Kitchen Trends 2024
Our team recently returned from the Milan Furniture Fair and the biennial EuroCucina exhibition which is one of the most important kitchen events internationally.
Here are some of the key design trends we witnessed in the world of designer kitchens:
Textured cabinetry
Door fronts were tactile and texture rich with the emphasis on ‘interesting’ finishes and organic shapes. In terms of kitchen design, ribbed doors, vertical stripes and textured wood finishes were popular.
Natural & organic aesthetic
Earthy materials were the star of the show. Influences from nature were strong with finishes such as wood, brass, aluminium and concrete taking centre stage. Bold marble veins mixed with wood to add extra visual interest. Sandy, earthy hues such as terracotta, powder pink, ochre and salmon along with the ever popular black and dark brown tones.
Open shelving
Already a firm favourite with our suppliers, open shelving and wall systems are a great way to showcase personal items. adding character to the kitchen, display units allow you to make the kitchen a more liveable and eclectic space.
Blocky benchtops
Benchtops with a thick profile are back in fashion. Chunky face front panels and integrated sinks made from stone, porcelain and Fenix NTM were popular with all suppliers at the fair.
Kitchen as the social hub
Kitchen design is going in a new direction, where the utilitarian space is being reimagined as a space of living and comfort. In recent years we’ve seen the overlap between kitchen space with the living room and the seamless flow of furniture between both. The kitchen is the most important room in the house for social interaction, hosting guests, working and relaxing in.
The future of kitchen design is bright with so many advances in technology and product offerings. We can’t wait to enhance our designs with these key kitchen trends.
