If you’re a coffee fanatic, then having a dedicated coffee station within your kitchen is essential. Coffee bars are a fun way to spruce up your kitchen in a way that’s not only fashionable but functional too.
No matter what size your kitchen may be or what space you have to work with, there are many ways to incorporate a coffee bar in your home.
Let’s explore our favourite options for incorporating a coffee bar into your kitchen.
Integrated Breakfast Station
If you’re looking for a way introduce a coffee bar but don’t want to clutter your benches, this option is perfect for you. A dedicated coffee bar/breakfast station will seamlessly blend into your cabinetry. The use of pocket doors allows you to have the area on display when you like, but hidden when necessary.
The addition of open shelving within this cabinet coffee bar area is another great way to keep the space organised. Place your most used items on the lower shelfs such as coffee beans, sugar and teas so everything you need is within arms reach.
Do keep in mind however, this cabinet will need to have access to a power outlet in order to plug the machine in!
Coffee Bar Cart
If you’re having your kitchen done by Retreat Design and appear to have an empty or free space within the kitchen, perhaps you could consider placing in a built in coffee bar cart. If there is free room, we can design a dedicated area using our cabinetry for your coffee bar cart.
An option for the serious coffee experts that may want to display their products and machinery. In addition to being a coffee bar, it could also double as a cocktail bar by displaying your liquors on shelving above the coffee – or storing it in the cabinets below.
Kitchen Countertop
Defiantly the most popular option for a coffee bar, in which everyone can adopt. The kitchen countertop is the easiest and most affordable way to set up your coffee station.
You can define the boundaries of your coffee station by placing it on the end of your countertop, or by placing coffee/tea/sugar jars beside the coffee machine.
Butlers Pantry
Another way to have your coffee bar if you want to avoid clutter or would prefer to keep your benches clean is to hide it away in the butlers pantry. Taking the same principles as the kitchen counter top bar but instead placed behind the walls of a butlers pantry. Out of sight, out of mind!
There’s a world of possibilities when it comes to how you can have your coffee bar. Just like your choice in coffee, your choice in coffee bar will depend on what suits you.
