Cabinetry Door Profiles

Kitchen cabinetry doors have come along way since the flat panel front with a handle of your choice. The technology has changed dramatically in the last few years, choosing an emerging door option is a real way to add the wow factor to your new kitchen.

Generally when we talk about kitchen cabinetry, we are talking about three elements: carcasses, hardware and door fronts. There is always a price and quality range for all of these elements however because the technology is advancing so quickly, it is amazing how affordable a unique and beautiful door option has become.

At Retreat Design we have a myriad of kitchen cabinetry door options available to meet every aesthetic, budget and functional requirement.

cabinetry door profiles

Generally we talk about door fronts falling into these different categories:

  • Flat panel with recessed carcass

  • L shape step profile on door edge

  • 30deg Chamfered profile

  • AKB_08 Frame door

  • Recessed/integrated door handle

  • Flat panel with extruding handle

Flat Panel with recessed carcass

This is our entry level kitchen cabinetry door finish and comprises of a flat door front in your choice of finish with a recessed carcass. This means you get a hande-less door with a groove in the carcass for opening. The price point is really affordable and you can have this door option with any finish: lacquer, wood veneer, Fenix, laminate etc.

L Shaped Aluminum Profile

Another handle-less option is using a strip of L shaped aluminium running the length of the top edge of the door front to give the finger pull a ‘step’. the aluminium strip strengthens the top edge of the door front whilst also providing a light and modern aesthetic.

Chamfered Profile

Cutting the top of the door edge at a 30 or 45 degree angle provides an instant finger pull on a cabinetry door. This is an easy way to get a handle-less streamlined finish. To strengthen the edge of a chamfered door front, we can include an invisible aluminium strip on the top edge to give you piece of mind that your doors will stand up to heavy knocks.

AKB_08 Frame Door Profile

Available for use with Arrital’s AKB_08 range, the exclusive ‘floating core’ frame door in sturdy aluminium allows for the use of slim front panels available in numerous lacquered, veneered, Fenix NTM & Corian finishes.

Up and Cover-Up Handle Profile

Available for use with Arrital’s AK_Project and AK_05 range, the Up handle is an extruded aluminium opening system which forms a groove handle at the top of the door. Available in various finishes and can be matched to the door material which is called the Cover-Up profile.

Flat Panel with Recessed Handle

The handle can be built in to the door front as per the Tekna kitchen from Arredo3. The panel has been recessed and the groove is concealed by a metal strip giving a modern and streamlined aesthetic with a touch of personality.

Flat Panel with Extruding Handle

The options for handles are endless! At Retreat Design we can offer you a great quality flat panel door in pretty much any finish with the handles then picked and sourced either by one of our designers or by you.
